Mr. Atherton came to know the Lord in 1991 and was ordained by The Fishermen Ministry in 1996. Currently, he and his South African wife Megan, run “The Fish House” - a coffee house style mission to the lost from their home in Northfield Falls, Vermont. In addition, Mr. Atherton runs regular Bible studies in the homes of believers in Cornish Flat and Claremont, New Hampshire.
Mr. Atherton loves to minister in the streets and has been known to carry a large wooden cross on “fishing expeditions” to New Orleans during Mardi Gras and on various “commons” in Vermont and New Hampshire. He, along with his wife (who plays guitar), also form a part of the ministry’s worship team during Summer tent revivals in New England. Moreover, his wife leads worship at The Fish House’s Thursday Night Coffee House.
Mr. Atherton, who loves biblical and church history, is presently working on a comprehensive biblical chronology that he hopes to publish on the web, and possibly in book form. Moreover, with his wife, Mr. Atherton is working on a book that documents their courtship and the extraordinary way the Lord moved to bring two people, who lived some 8,000 miles apart, together in marriage.
